Why I can't su on FreeBSD 6.2

by Forrest Sheng Bao http://fsbao.net

The purpose of this article is to provide a short how-to to those who do not want to read the long FreeBSD handbook.

The reason is because only users in wheel group can su to superuser.

So you have to add your user into the wheel group. A possible way is to add it into wheel group when creating the user via adduser.
Please see Example 13.1 in FreeBSD handbook
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/users-modifying.html
When prompted to invite the user you are creating into other groupts, type wheel after the prompt.
